The half-elves

Originally the rare product of a mating between human and elves the half-elves have emerged as a race in their own right. ‘Half-elf’ has become a term to encompass any creature with a touch of any variety of elven blood, whether they also possess kine, dwarf, or ogre heritage as well. A person who is born to mixed parentage is often caught between the cultures, an outsider in both worlds. The half-elves have laboriously carved their own niche in the social world of Rhia. They embrace the light-hearted attitude of the elvenkind without their elitism, the persistence of the kine without their banality. They drink like the dwarves and fight like the orcs. It is curious to note that, regarding the ‘blessing’ or ‘curse’ of Rhian, the half-elves are considered an individual race. So, while the half-elves may occasionally be shunned from the ‘pure’ races of the land, they easily find their own home amongst their own kind.
