The orcs

The orcs, like the ogres and draconians, are not as integrated into the concept of ‘humanity’ as the other races of Rhia who are more aesthetically pleasing to the kine race. Some even doubt whether these races are ‘people’ at all, but rather creatures. The draconians afford some measure of respect due to their intelligence, ogres due to their size, but it is the orc who is often viewed as a mere goblin. While the orcs are closely related to the goblins, their intelligence and complex society place them firmly in the realm of ‘person’ rather than ‘creature’ despite popular prejudice. Orcs often live in the vast grasslands, moving in nomadic groups across the plains. Their society is matriarchal, though not to the brutal extent of the drow. Females own the herds, thus owning political power, while men are relegated to the role of hunter and protector. When traveling outside their homelands, orcs find themselves free of such social restrictions of gender, but often, their warlike temperament remains.
