The shapeshifters

Rhia is home to many diverse beings. Some of these, namely vampyres and werebeasts have the ability to change form at will, giving them greater power, mysterious abilities and animal instinct. While the numbers of the vampyre are limited by immortal decree, werebeasts abound and any new entrant to Rhia has a 5% chance of inheriting the were gene. The study of these shapeshifters is literally the stuff of legends, and as many as there are individuals, are the number of viewpoints.

Through the generations the legends of shapeshifters have been handed down. Stories have rotated about eerie howls in the night and people disappearing after dark. Your grandmother may have told you not to venture too far into the night or the boogeyman will get you. Some of these legends may or may not be true. There has been some recent study into this field by wizards to determine the validity of the legends. Wizards from far and wide have gathered what evidence they could to determine if there are these creatures, and if so, the nature of these magical creatures. The ones who call themselves kin to the were claim all is true and yet none. I myself have seen strange things in my journeys, things not easily explained. The search will continue and the truth shall be found.
